This morning we’re waking up with Amari Collins, the wine caterer, movement coach, and creative force behind Swirl School NYC — a one-of-a-kind wine-and-dance experience where pouring, movement, and confession collide. Known to her 30,000+ TikTok followers as @VinDealer, Amari built her career in television before pivoting to wine “out of necessity” during the pandemic and industry strikes. What started as intimate tastings with friends — full of laughter, rhythm, and real talk — has evolved into a joyful community that pairs connection with a good pour. Let’s dive in…

What’s your earliest memory of pleasure—sexual or otherwise?

Watching Real Sex on HBO late at night. I was blessed enough to have a TV in my room with all the premium channels (when we could afford it, lol), and the show’s soft, sensual kissing and tasteful set design left me wanting more. Funny enough, years later in Fort Greene, I ended up living next door to one of the producers — a true full-circle moment.

Right now, what’s turning you on—culturally, creatively, or sexually?

I saw Luca Guadagnino’s After the Hunt yesterday, and there’s this scene where Andrew Garfield and Julia Roberts start making out — I literally felt my fanny flutter. For me, sometimes that’s all it takes.

Do you have a ritual, tool, or practice that helps you connect to your own pleasure?

Give me a few hours alone while my husband’s at the gym, my Maude three-level vibrator, and it’s off to the races. Simple, reliable, transcendent.

What do you wish people talked about more openly when it comes to sex & pleasure?

At Swirl School, we’re constantly pushing people out of their comfort zones — encouraging curiosity, laughter, and the conversations that usually stay taboo.

My social media is full of cheeky innuendo, so people arrive knowing they can show up as their full selves. During our anonymous confessional segment, guests let it all out — it cuts the tension instantly. For me, pleasure and openness go hand in hand; it’s about debunking what we’ve been taught to keep quiet about, whether that’s wine, bodies, or desire.

If we peeked at your “pleasure playlist,” what’s on it?

“Lollipop” by Lil Wayne — I remember air-humping to it with my friends, blasting it in my Acura Integra. Let’s just say those skills still pay the bills.

What’s one myth or misconception about pleasure you’d love to debunk?

That pleasure has to be clean or “proper.” It’s not. Sometimes it’s messy — and that’s okay. Having sex on your period? Totally fine. Not shaving? Also fine. It’s part of life. If you can’t handle that, maybe you’re not ready for real intimacy. Besides, period sex can actually feel amazing — you’re literally breaking through the norm.

What’s one lesson you’ve learned on your pleasure journey that you’d want others to know?

Talking about sex drops people’s walls faster than anything. I love to test the waters early — if someone clams up, maybe we’re not vibing. But if they lean in and laugh, we’re instantly besties, at least for the night. Openness creates connection, every single time.
